Questions

What does the financial health check measure?

Nine areas: your emergency fund, health cover, life cover, debt, savings rate, goals, how your money is spread, how often you review it, and whether nominees and a will are in place. Each answer scores from weak to strong, and the total is shown out of 100.

What is a good score?

Above 80 means the basics are in place. Between 55 and 80 means there are a few gaps worth closing. Below 55, fix the basics, such as an emergency fund and insurance, before investing more.

Why are the fixes in a set order?

Because each one protects the next. An emergency fund stops a bad month from forcing you to sell investments. Insurance stops one event from undoing years of saving. Debt, savings and investment choices come after those.

Is this financial advice?

No. It is a general check based on common planning rules. Advice takes your full situation into account, which is what a conversation with an advisor is for.

This page is for education. It shows an illustration built from the numbers and assumptions you enter. It is not investment, tax or legal advice, and it does not take your full circumstances into account. Rates of return are assumptions, not promises. Tax rules change, so check the current rules or speak to an advisor before you act.
